Faculty & Staff

Current Status

For now, and until further notice, we will retain our current mode of operations: all employees who can work remotely are expected to do so. Only employees with a specific need to be back on campus to complete essential functions – i.e. tasks that “must be” done on campus to support our fall operations should be working on campus.

Mandatory ID Policy

For the security and safety of our community, the College requires all faculty, staff and students to wear a visible Holy Cross-issued identification card (“ID”). All faculty, staff, and students are required to wear their ID so that it is easily visible at all times when on campus, unless doing so presents a safety or operational risk.

Returning to Campus

Divisions and departments have categorized all employees according to their exposure  to in-person interactions on campus and all employees have been notified of their testing regimen. Some employees have been identified by their divisions and departments as needing to be regularly on campus. These employees are required to be enrolled in the College’s COVID-19 testing protocol. If an employee has questions about their testing category they should contact their supervisor or department head.

The requirement that all employees request permission from and be approved by returntocampus@holycross.edu before returning to campus has been discontinued. However, the process remains in effect for divisions and departments who need to bring visitors or vendors on campus, see below.  In order to promote de-densification of our campus, restrictions remain  as to who is permitted on campus to complete essential functions. Those who are  working on campus must do their part and follow the protocols for masks, social distancing and hygiene, to advance the safeguards in the protocols and protect our community from the virus.

All Employees Should

  • Not come to campus if you are:
    •   ill and/or are exhibiting symptoms consistent with COVID-19; or
    •  have  been  exposed to someone diagnosed or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19; or
    •  have been instructed to quarantine or isolate by a health care provider or an official from the Department of Public Health.
  • Take the Mandatory COVID-19 training, even if you are working remotely. The training will help prepare you for your eventual return to campus. The training includes an attestation that the employee understands the mandatory safety points set forth in the training video and intends to comply with them. The attestation does not contain a release of legal claims.
  • Read Employees Authorized to Work On Campus During Modified Operations Due to COVID-19: Protocols for Masks, Social Distancing and Hygiene (PDF), the “Protocols document,” even if you are working remotely. The Protocols document explains the safety measures the College has adopted to limit the transmission of the virus.

Employees Required to be Enrolled in a Testing Regimen Should:

  • Sign up for One Medical membership by downloading the One Medical App and complete all necessary authorizations and consents, as instructed in the email that was sent to you. Information related to the sign-up materials can be found here.
  • Schedule your COVID-19 test through the One Medical App.
  • Before coming onto campus, perform your COVID-19 Daily Check-in by filling out the One Medical quick screening questionnaire.
  • Do not  come to campus if you are:
    •   ill and/or are exhibiting symptoms consistent with COVID-19; or
    •  have  been  exposed to someone diagnosed or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19; or
    •  have been instructed to quarantine or isolate by a health care provider or an official from the Department of Public Health.
  • Wear a face mask at all times while on campus, except in the limited exceptions listed in the Protocols document.
  • Practice social distancing while on campus by remaining six feet away from others.
  • Engage in regular cleaning and disinfecting, including washing your hands and disinfecting shared equipment while on campus.

Employees Working Remotely or Who Have Limited Interaction with Campus Should:

  • Only come to campus if you have a specific need to be back on campus to complete essential functions – i.e. tasks that “must be” done on campus to support our fall operations. Otherwise you are expected to work remotely.
  • If you do come to campus,  please take the daily self-health assessment available here: COVID-19 symptom check.

Divisions and departments who need to bring visitors or vendors on campus to complete essential functions that can only be done on campus, should request approval by sending an email to returntocampus@holycross.edu. After sending the email a member of the Return to Campus team will respond.
