Omicron and Plans for Next Year

Many of you have no doubt taken note of the situation at a few colleges now dealing with surges in cases. These surges come as numbers of cases are rising in many areas across the country.

So far, our case numbers have remained relatively stable, and were even down slightly this week. Also, tomorrow is our last day of final exams, so there is no need to make any of the significant changes we’ve seen elsewhere. However, this is an emerging situation and we are actively looking at all aspects of the Omicron variant as the data comes in.

At this point, we do not have plans to make significant changes to our COVID plan for the spring semester. We are going to do everything possible to keep our campus open, with on-campus classes and activities, along with COVID protocols including masking and testing.

Getting your booster shot is the best way you can help limit the spread of COVID to vulnerable populations. We expect to have more information about our plans early next week. Please make sure to check your email.

Testing Center Closed Next Week

Don’t forget that our on-campus testing center is closed next week. If you are on campus, please make use of the drop box in the Public Safety lobby, accessible from the College Street entrance to The Jo.

You can use the drop box Monday through Wednesday.
