Case Increases and Masking on Campus
As you can see from the numbers above, we are seeing an increase in cases. This increase has been sustained over the past several weeks, and it mirrors an increase we are seeing in greater Worcester and throughout the state.
Because of this, we’re reinstating the mask rule for every indoor space on campus. This includes inside residence halls and in offices unless you are alone and have the door closed. This change is effective immediately.
We’re in the home stretch for the fall semester. We’d like to go into the winter break without any more significant spread of the virus. We know everyone wants to be able to see their friends and family over the holidays, and students want to finish out the semester without quarantine, isolation and disruption to their finals schedules. We hope this change, and continued vigilance overall, will help get us there.
A Reminder About Masks in the Library
A friendly reminder that, as masks are required indoors everywhere on campus, this includes Dinand Library, where we’ve spotted a few too many studious community members without their masks. Please remember to mask up out of care and respect for students and library employees.
