Weekly Update

January 29, 2021

We remain at an Orange alert level. Find more information about alert levels here.

Welcome back to all the students moving in this weekend!

Remote Classes

Because of our Orange status, classes during the first week of the semester will be remote, with just a few exceptions for studio art and lab courses. An update on future classes is planned for Feb. 3.

Avoiding Close Contact Status

Earlier this week, a number of members of our community were placed into quarantine because they were found to be close contacts of those who tested positive. If a member of our community tests positive, anyone who spent more than 15 minutes over the day with, with or without a mask and within six feet, is a close contact.

You can still socialize while avoiding becoming a close contact by taking the following steps:

  • Stay six feet apart
  • Spend time outdoors
  • Wear a mask at all times, except in your dorm room with only your roommate present (for students)
  • Meet with friends one at a time. Meet friends one at a time.
  • Do not eat in close proximity to anyone

Check out some tips from Holy Cross Student Wellness on avoiding being a close contact.

Any in-person events organized by the College (like Kickoff to 2012), will follow strict social distancing and mask guidelines.
