Dear Colleagues,

Happy New Year! 

We hope you all enjoyed some much deserved time off during the break. As there have been many recent changes to our testing protocol, including the implementation of HC Clear, we want to remind you of some important details of the College’s surveillance testing program based on questions we have received over the past few weeks. 

Please note, that if you are not enrolled in a testing regimen, no action is required on your part.

Testing at the Jo (the new campus recreation center): 

Hours of Operation

  • Mon: 8 a.m. to noon, and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Tue: 8 a.m. to noon, and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wed (Late Day): 10 a.m. to noon, and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Thu: 8 a.m. to noon, and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Fri: 8 a.m. to noon, and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

There will be no testing on the weekends. If you believe you need to take a test on the weekend, please contact your primary care provider or a local urgent care clinic to discuss your options. 

Important Reminder: Do not go to the Jo to be tested if you are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19, please stay away from campus and contact your primary care provider.

Special Dates

The testing center will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 21, Tuesday, Jan. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 28  to support move-in weekends.

Test Labels 

We know there have been some concerns about the process of affixing testing labels to the test collection vials. The Triumvirate professionals will do this for you.  The hand sanitizer that employees must use when entering the testing site can smear or smudge the label, rendering the label illegible, and delay or prevent an employee from receiving their test results. For that reason, the Triumvirate staff will be affixing the testing labels to ensure quality processing. 

Computer Kiosks

On the days when you work on campus you are required to fill out the Daily Symptom Checker in HC Clear. You do not need to fill out the Daily Symptom Checker on days you are not coming to campus.  For employees who do not have compatible smartphones to access HC Clear, there are now computer kiosks across campus to do your Daily Symptom Checker, schedule appointments and view test results. 

If you are using the computer kiosk to fill out your Daily Symptom Checker in HC Clear, you should make your submission before being tested.

The Jo
Hogan - 3 computers by Post Office, Bookstore and Crossroads  
Smith Hall - 2 computers in the waiting area near the Registrar's office
Loyola - 1 computer by the Fitness Center
Public Safety - 1 computer 

HC Clear User Information

How to Fix a Mistaken Entry 

If you accidentally make an incorrect submission in the Daily Symptom Checker and receive a Red X, please contact Melissa Cutroni, the HR Office Coordinator, at employeeRTWcommunication@holycross.edu  or call her at 508-793-3566. 

Employees Without A Recent Test

Employees will receive a Red X if they have not tested recently. To clear the Red X from the “Am I Clear?” page, you should test as soon as possible. After you swipe your Employee ID at the testing center, the Red X will disappear within a few minutes. 

COVID Recovery

Employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 and have been approved to return to work will not test for 90 days.  You will be notified via email from HR when you are expected to resume testing prior to the 91st day. You should continue to fill out the Daily Symptom Checker on days that you come to campus, using HC Clear.

Close Contacts

Employees identified as Close Contacts are required to stay away from campus and quarantine, but have the option to: 

  • Quarantine for 14 days; or
  • Quarantine and then get a PCR test  (at an outside testing facility) on the 8th day of quarantine. If the test result is negative you may return to work on the 11th day, as long as you provide the HR Office Coordinator, or Reliant NP, a copy of your negative test results and continue to monitor yourself for symptoms until the 14th day of your quarantine period.
