Dear Students and Families,
The upcoming academic year at Holy Cross, and at all colleges and universities across the country, will be unlike any other. We continue to work to finalize the many details of our plans to minimize the risk of COVID-19 infections at the College. This will necessitate changes to almost all aspects of academics and student life on campus.
We have just posted a Preliminary Fall 2020 Guide for Students and Families to our COVID-19 Response and Reopening website. The Guide contains information about important changes to academics and student life, as well as restrictions and requirements which will be implemented as we seek to protect the health and safety of our College and local communities. Course information and more details on academics will be sent to students in a separate email from Provost Margaret Freije. Student financial aid awards will be posted early in the week of July 13 in STAR. Preliminary bills will also be posted early next week in TouchNet.
After reviewing the Guide, and considering your personal situation, we ask that you let us know of your plans for the fall semester by completing the Acknowledgment and Election of Options Form by Sunday, July 19. All students should complete the form to indicate how they plan to access classes and where they plan to reside for fall semester. We also recognize that some students may choose to take a leave of absence from the College; students can also indicate this intention on the Form. As we understand that these decisions impact your families, the Form also provides a place for parents or guardians to acknowledge the information in the Guide and the option chosen by their student.
We hope that this information will be helpful and answer some of your many questions. We also recognize that it will likely lead to more questions, which we hope to answer via the two webinars this week.
