'I Love it Here' 1.06 - Outdoor Dining

It’s a beautiful day in Worcester, and while I’m inside working on this article, the one thing on my mind is outdoor dining. There are several good restaurants in Worcester with outdoor seating. Biagio’s is an Italian grill that’s at 257 Park Ave, just down the street from Elm Park. They have some of the best Italian food found off of Shrewsbury St. But by no means is that the only one.

On Shrewsbury St., Amoré Café has live piano playing on some weekends. I really like their calamari and pictures of the Sopranos and Sylvester Stallone on the walls for atmosphere. Café Dolcé is another great place, and they specialize in dessets. If you are looking for something between chocolate mousse and a cappuccino after dinner. Look no further. There’s also the Flying Rhino which is great for food year-round, but I especially like sitting outside there. The Ivory Tusk is one of their house favorites and does not disappoint! However, there is one spot, that is actually new to the Shrewsbury St. area, that when I first think of outdoor dining in Worcester, comes to mind above all others: Junior’s Pizza Grille.

Junior’s is in a converted mechanic’s shop on Shrewsbury St., and it has three things going for it: great food, a parking lot, and ample outdoor seating. This is the advantage of the restaurant being in a mechanic’s shop. When the weather is nice, they open the garage bay doors and suddenly the whole restaurant is outside. Beautiful. Plus, there is no price on the value of having a parking lot available on Shrewsbury St., especially when the weather is nice. Obviously, they specialize in pizza, but you don’t want to pass up the burgers or chili fries without seriously thinking about it.
