'I Love it Here' 1.03 - Pizza
For all you pizza aficionados out there, I must point you to the Corner Grille at 806 Pleasant St. It’s less than a fifteen minute drive - on the West side of Pleasant St. Just head up Highland, past Park Ave., and go straight through the rotary (yes, rotary) onto Pleasant; it’ll be a few blocks down on your left, where the blinking neon tomato is. Corner Grille has my favorite pizza in Worcester! You may be wondering if it’s Greek style or New York style. Actually, it’s neither. It’s got a cracker-thin crust and they have an amazing selection of gourmet toppings there. You can get anything: all the standard toppings and pizzas are possible, plus they have specials like the asparagus and prosciutto, the baked potato, or the pesto pizza. This week, my favorite is the barbeque chicken pizza. Mmmm. They don’t deliver though, so you’ll have to drive there, or hitch a ride. Don’t let that deter you though!
And if you do go to the Corner Grille, you don’t want to miss Word Play, which is the used books, games, and music store right across the street. They have a nice selection of used books, but what I really like are the vintage board games and the small but high quality vinyl record selection. I picked up a Jimmy Smith record, along with an album of jazz theme songs from TV shows in the ‘60s.
