Apply to SIP

The Summer Internship Program consists of a two-tiered application process.  Please carefully read the detailed instructions below.

Uploading Your Application

  • Students must first apply for admission to the Summer Internship Program by submitting a job search quality resume, a job search quality cover letter stating their career interest(s) and aspirations, what they hope to gain from an internship and what they can contribute to an internship site, and a transcript. Applicants’ student records will be accessed by the SIP. The only application deadline is Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 11:59 pm EDT for the 2009 Summer Internship Program. No extensions will be granted.  Late applications will not be accepted.
  • The resume, cover letter, and copy of your transcript (cut and pasted into a Word document from STAR) should be submitted via Crusader Connections. Applicants must log in using their HC ID number as both their username and password. Once logged in, students must 1.) set up their profile, 2.) upload their resume, cover letter, and a copy of their transcript and 3.) submit those three uploaded documents to the Summer Internship Program via Crusader Connections. SIP is listed as an employer in Crusader Connections.
  • Address your cover letter to Ms. Pamela Ahearn; Associate Director; Summer Internship Program; 1 College Street; Worcester, MA 01610

Submitting Your Application

  • When you upload your resume, cover letter, and transcript into your Crusader Connections account, you have NOT applied to SIP.  You must then submit them to the Summer Internship Program through the Crusader Connections site. Click on "Employer" and then click on "Employers Search." Click on "S" under "Search by the First Letter of the Employer Name." Scroll down to "Summer Internship Program" and click on the link. Click on the "Jobs" link and click on the 2009 link. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "Apply" button. Select the specific resume, cover letter, and transcript which you would like to submit as your application and then click on the "Submit" button.

Verifying Your Application Status

To verify your application status, log in to CrusaderConnections and click on "Applications." All your applications submitted via CrusaderConnections and the status of each will be displayed. If the Summer Internship Program is not displayed, you did not apply to the program.

Interviewing

  • Brief interviews will be scheduled with selected students approximately one to two weeks after the application deadline.  Students will be notified of their acceptance to the program approximately one week after their interview.
  • After gaining admission to the program, students must attend two workshops.  They may then apply for specific internships housed within the program.
