Account Management Intern
Marketing/Advertising agency specializing in the youth market seeks account management intern for summer 2009. Intern will be exposed to the day-to-day workings of an advertising and marketing consulting firm servicing a variety of blue chip clients targeting products or communication to kids, teens, families and Moms. Opportunity to learn about kids psychology and culture, the fundamentals of project/account management and the basics of advertising and marketing. The intern may be given the opportunity to work with other teams and departments on various projects (for example assisting with television commerical shoots).
Responsibilities will include:
- developing competitive analyses
- corresponding with and updating clients and colleagues
- researching trends and happenings in the youth market
- helping develop briefs
- attending client meetings
- maintaining client databases
- assisting the account management group in preparing for meetings and new business pitches
- actively participating in in-house and some client meetings
- by end of summer, will also complete one independent project, and present results to internal team.
Skills required:
- Genuine interest and curiosity about marketing
- Right brained and left brained: both creative and analytical abilities
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Ability and interest in working with teams
- Self-starter/initiator
- Passion for kids
