Program Coordinator
Position Description: The Program Coordinator will act as the student coordinator of Gateways Summer & Fall Orientation. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Office of Orientation, Transition and Leadership, while working with many different people and offices, including the Class Dean, Residence Life & Housing, and the Office of Student Affairs, to organize and implement all logistical aspects of the Gateways Summer & Fall Orientation Program. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in furthering his/her leadership development to gain valuable experience in operations management, event planning, and experience in the field of Student Affairs.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Program Coordinator will include:
- Attending all meetings concerning Gateways Orientation
- Working cooperatively with faculty, staff, students and parents throughout the Gateways Program
- Serving as an official representative of the College
- The implementation and management of the reservations database
- Interacting with faculty, staff, and various departments across campus to coordinate program logistics
- The coordination and implementation of assessment tools
- Facilitation of Human Resources paperwork
- Supervision and coordination of Gateways office staff
- Other duties as assigned
Location: Worcester, MA
Qualifications: We are looking for students who posses the following qualities:
- A sense of responsibility and integrity
- A desire to work with students, faculty and staff
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Available to be present at ALL times during Training and Orientation
- Good academic standing with the College
- Good judicial standing with the College
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and database software
- Prior Gateways Orientation experience is not necessary
Expected Time Commitment: The responsibilities of the Program Coordinator begin during Spring Semester 2009 and continue through September of the summer of 2009
- Expected to work 5-10 hours per week during Spring 2009
- Full time employment (40 hours per week) from May- August 2009
