Alvan T. - Viola D. Fuller American Cancer Society Research Fellowship
The Fuller Fellowship offers undergraduate students the opportunity to participate in research with accomplished investigators and receive a stipend of $4,500.
Upon selection, Fellows are placed at leading New England institutions, such as teaching hospitals, universities, and medical schools. Fellowships last a minimum of ten weeks and are equivalent to full-time summer employment. Sponsors assign Fellows projects under their direction, with guidance provided by the sponsor's research staff. The Fuller Committee composed of senior scientists chooses and places the Fellows.

Qualifications:
- Applicants must be residents of New England (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, or VT) and enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program, which may be outside of New England.
- Juniors and seniors are eligible, with favorable weighting given to those with advanced science/public health course work.
- Lab skill and interest in research required for science majors.
- Minority students and students with American Cancer Society volunteer experience are encouraged to apply. Locations: Various throughout Massachusetts

- Essay(200 words) describing how the award will contribute to your career path.
- Academic transcripts: Request the the Registrar's office send a complete transcript of your academic record direct to the FUller Committee at the address below by February 12, 2010. If you are a transfer students, please request transcripts fromyour previously attended college(s).
- References: Please email, mail, or fax to the Fuller Committee the names and email addresses of two sponsoring science/public health faculty most familiar with your work. Reference questionaires will be emailed to the faculty you have named, and they will be asked to write a letter of recommendation on yourbehalf. The questionaires and letters of recommednation must be returned to the Committee by February 12, 2010 as well. The documents can be returned vial elecrtonic mail.
