Cushing Academy

Teaching Intern

Cushing Academy, an international coeducational college preparatory school, offers a five-week summer boarding program for boys and girls, aged 12-18.  Students spend each morning in one of five major programs: College Prep (humanities, mathematics, sciences); Critical Skills in English, Mathematics, and Study Techniques; English as a Second Language; Studio Art, or the Prep for Success program for students aged 12-13.  One academic credit is awarded for the College Prep level courses, which meet for five hours per day (M-F).

Afternoon elective classes are offered in visual arts (photography, painting, and drawing, jewelry making, sculpture, and pottery); performing arts (dance and theater); athletics (basketball, golf, swimming, soccer, tennis, and volleyball); and a variety of academic areas (English, mathematics, modern languages, computer studies, and SAT and TOEFL preparation).
