Development Intern

Citi Performing Arts Center (formerly The Wang Center for the Performing Arts) Development Office is a busy and dynamic office and there is always something new to do.  Our ideal candidate for this position is quick to learn and flexible with his/her schedule.  The following is a list of duties the intern may be asked to perform: 

  • Assist with coordinating volunteers for Free Shakespeare on the Common Production of As You Like It, set to run at the Parkman Bandstand July 18-August 3 as well as August 8-10 in Springfield MA.  This responsibility will include evening and/or weekend hours on Boston Common during the run of the show.  There is a possibility of travel to Springfield if the intern is available for those dates.
  1. Volunteers
        a.  Oversee and coordinate volunteer schedules and training
  2. VIP Seating
        a.  Create VIP seating plans
        b.  track VIP seating/comp seating requests
        c.  act as an usher for the VIP area
  3. Front of House
        a.  assist the Theater Manager with other duties as assigned
  • Coordinate volunteers for the  Free Shakespeare on the Common and the Education Department's Celebrate Shakespear program.
  • Process ticket orders for high level donors, trustees and members 
  • Assist with prospect research, grant research and compilation of grant materials 
  • Assist with general office duties: mailings, filing, phones 
  • Other duties as assigned or needed

Qualifications: Class of 2009 or 2010.  You must be admitted to the Summer Internship Program to apply.
