Position Description: Piscataway-based department of world-famous cosmetic company focusing on cosmetics and skin biology, is seeking for a junior/senior level student to assist the Skin Cell Biology Laboratory with individual projects and day-to-day tasks. Projects will involve working with laboratory automation equipment, skin cell cultures, fluorescent microscopy, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemical staining. The ideal student will be a motivated, hard-working, and committed team member.
Normal human cells will be cultured then incubated with cosmetic active ingredients or controls for a defined period of time. These processes will be carried out manually or using robotics. The cellular response to these active ingredients will then be evaluated using a variety of biochemical techniques (ex: Enzyme-linked immunosorbant assay, Western blot and others) and compared to control cells.
