Special Events Internship

Great Strides:  Event Follow-Up with Great Strides.  Great Strides is the largest event conducted by the Massachusetts/Rhode Island Chapter and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  In 2007 volunteers and sponsors throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island raised over $2 million dollars at twenty different walk sites.  Intern would be responsible for helping with the processing of walker envelopes, data base entry of information, mailings and follow up phone calls.
 
Golf  Events:
Help Director of Special Events coordinate golf tournaments during the month of June. Follow-up correspondence with sponsors and participants. Assistance with event registration and day of event administration.

Other Events and Projects As Assigned: Internship candidate will be responsible for working on other CFF events during the months of May and June as assigned. Help Director of Special Events recruit and coordinate volunteers. Provide support for day-of logistics and follow-up. Participants and volunteers must be 21 years of age to participate on site at certain CFF events.

During this internship, the intern will be exposed to special events fundraising, volunteer recruitment, event management, event marketing and promotional strategies.

Start Date: Monday, May 19 , 2008 (may be negotiable)

Qualifications: Class of 2009, 2010 or 2011.  You MUST be from the Boston area to apply for this Summer Fellowship. 

Compensation: This internship carries a $3,200 stipend. $1,100 is paid directly to the intern by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation,  The remaining $2,100 is credited to the intern's Holy Cross account by the Holy Cross General Alumni Association and the Holy Cross Club of Greater Boston.
