Summer Fellowship
Catholic Charities North serves more than 35 communities in Essex and Middlesex Counties. Agency headquarters are at 55 Lynn Shore Drive, Lynn. Additional sites are located in Peabody, Salem and West Lynn. Some of the people we serve are Catholic, but many are not. Some can afford to pay for the services they receive, but many cannot. Our agency attempts to help all who request assistance either through direct assistance or appropriate referral.
Catholic Charities North offers many programs which would be of interest to summer interns and volunteers. Responsibilities might include:
Initial Response Services: handle emergency calls for food, clothing, information and referrals, and counseling.
Tutoring: assist with ESL or GED students
Child Care Center Summer Program: assist with summer activities, field trips etc. for children (ages 3-12) who participate in this program
There will also be the opportunity to participate in other agency or parish projects as time allows.
These programs offer an excellent training ground for student interns interested in the human service field, providing one on one interaction with clients and staff. Training and ongoing supervision are provided.
This is an eight week summer internship.

Qualifications: 2009, 2010 or 2011. You must be from the greater Boston area to apply for this internship.
Compensation: This Fellowship carries a $3,200 stipend from Catholic Charities North, the Holy Cross General Alumni Association, and the Holy Cross Club of Boston credited to the intern's HC student account.
