Summer Intern
Annaly Capital Management, Inc. manages assets on behalf of institutional and individual investors worldwide. Our principal business objective is to generate net income for distribution to our investors from the spread between the interest income on our mortgage-backed securities and the costs of borrowing to finance their acquisition. Annaly and its subsidiaries are focused on generating long term value to our shareholders and investors by utilizing strategies consistent with the markets we know best and capitalizing on opportunities to extend this expertise into new markets on a global basis.
Annaly is a small (45 employees) and flat organization so there are many opportunities for an intern to learn a great deal. The employees at Annaly take time to teach the intern a great deal about the business.
Intern duties and responsibilities could include:
• Preparing for sales and marketing presentations
• Preparing data sheets of companies’ financial history
• Accounting of daily trading activities
• Organizing accounting statements
• Sitting in on earnings calls
• Attending investor meetings
• Researching and presenting investment opportunities
Location: New York, NY
Compensation: $15/hour and daily breakfast and lunch

Qualifications: Class of 2010 or 2011. Economics major. You must be admitted to the Summer Internship Program to apply.
