What about compensation?
Compensation varies but typically falls within the $10 - $20 per hour range. Some nonprofit or public service agencies which cannot compensate at that level pay a small stipend or a nominal salary, provide parking, cover the intern’s transportation and/or lunch, and/or send the intern to training sessions or short courses.
