July 22, 2009 Holy Cross Men's Soccer Donates Equipment To HaitiHoly Cross alumnus helps to train Haitian coaches and playersWORCESTER, Mass. – The men's soccer program recently donated a decade's worth of past uniforms and training gear as well as several soccer balls to assist with soccer in Haiti. On June 27, John Evans '74, an assistant soccer coach at Westfield State College went to Port Au Prince for two weeks of training with coaches and players. Evans met current Holy Cross head coach Ted Priestly at this year's soccer alumni game on April 18 where they discussed the trip. "To assist John Evans in spreading goodwill to the people of Haiti is an honor and a privilege," said Priestly.
