Bishop Flanagan Lecture at Holy Cross to Focus on Religion and Politics

WORCESTER, Mass. – Susan H. McFadden, professor of psychology at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, will give a lecture, titled "Growing Old Together: Sources of Meaning in Relationality and Reciprocity," on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. in Holy Cross' Rehm Library. The lecture, which is part of the College's Aging, Ethics and Spirituality Lecture Series, is free and open to the public.

McFadden specializes in adult development and aging, and the psychology of religion. She has combined these interests in a number of research projects and scholarly articles that address the role of religion and spirituality in adjustment to the aging process. Her current research involves studying the nature and interpersonal interactions of people with Alzheimer's disease.

A member of several national organizations including the Gerontological Society of American and the American Society on Aging, she is also an associate director of the Center on Aging, Religion and Spirituality, in St. Paul, Minn.
