First-year student excited about attending athletic events, delving into prebusiness program

WHY SHE CHOSE HOLY CROSS “The first time I visited Holy Cross, it was a freezing cold winter day. Although I let the weather discourage me the first time I visited campus, each time I came back, the more I fell in love with Holy Cross. I think what makes Holy Cross so unique from other colleges is the close-knit community. Not only does Holy Cross have a great liberal arts education, but I really feel that Holy Cross offers the tools for everyone to succeed together — from the senior-run Writer’s Workshop to professors’ office hours. Everyone is willing to help each other out, and people are not afraid to lend out a helping hand, even if it is someone you just met. The school has a great school spirit, which contributes to an energetic social scene. I could not picture myself at any other college.”

ACTIVITIES “I volunteer in the Admissions office as a greeter. I love greeting and meeting prospective students. I am also involved in Student Programs for Urban Development where I help pregnant women in Worcester once a week.”

WHAT SHE’S MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO “Meeting new people, attending hockey games and other athletic events, and taking new classes. I am also looking forward to the seminars and internships of the prebusiness program and learning more about the business world. I am also eager to meet Holy Cross alumni, such as the president of Marc Jacobs, and making connections for the future. I look forward to visiting the Career Planning Center often.”

WHY SHE’S TWEETING “I want to tweet for Holy Cross so prospective students can experience the real life of a Holy Cross student. I think it is important for prospective students to see “life on the hill” through the eyes of a real Holy Cross student, not through information sessions, professors, or what you hear on a tour. This is my real life — up close and personal.”
