Women’s basketball standout McFadden ’10 blogs about academics and athletics at Holy Cross

Briana McFadden '10

Briana McFadden ’10 had plenty of colleges to select from, but she chose Holy Cross because it offered the best combination of high academic standards and a strong athletics program.

The math major from Germantown, Md., says she made the right decision. McFadden will explain all the reasons why in her blog throughout the year.

As guard on the women’s basketball team, the blog promises to contain plenty of excitement. McFadden was named the 2007-2008 Patriot League Player of the Year. She led the league in free throw percentage, ranking second in scoring and sixth in both three-point field goal percentage and in three-point field goals made.

McFadden knows how to make smart moves off the basketball court, too. With a premed concentration, she plans on attending medical school and pursuing a career in sports medicine or orthopedics.

In the meantime, she is training before practice starts on Oct. 17, all in anticipation of the season opener versus Yale on Nov. 15.
