The Supreme Court and Religion to be Subject of Talk at Holy Cross

James Hitchcock, of the history department at St. Louis University and Bishop Thomas J. Curry of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles will be the guests at a talk titled "The Supreme Court and Religion: A Colloquium" on Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rehm Library. Caren Dubnoff, of the political science department, will be the moderator. The event is free and open to the public.

Hitchcock is the author of seven books on the Catholic Church, including The Supreme Court and Religion in American Life (2 volumes, 2004).

Curry, Ph.D., bishop of Santa Barbara, is the author of The First Freedoms: Church and State in America to the Passage of the First Amendment (1987) and Farewell to Christendom: The Future of Church and State in America (2001).

The colloquium is sponsored by the Center for Religion, Ethics and Culture and the Department of Political Science.
