Alumni Wedding Photo Submission Guidelines

We’re thrilled to share news of your happy day with the Holy Cross family by printing your wedding photo in an upcoming issue of HCM. Here are the requirements for digital or regular print photos to be considered for publication:

• Bride or groom must be a graduate of Holy Cross.
• Only group photographs will be accepted.
• All persons in the photo must be Holy Cross alumni.
• All persons in the photo must be identified by first name, maiden name (where applicable), last name and class year.
• The date and location of the wedding must accompany the photo.
• The name, email and phone number of the person sending the photo must be included (in case there are questions).

 

If a professional took the photo
All professional photos, digital or print, must be accompanied by a letter of permission from the photographer, stating that HCM has permission to run the photo, at no charge, in the magazine and online.

If a non-professional took the photo:
Friends and family take fun snapshots with their digital cameras and phones, but, unfortunately, these amateur shots are often too small or too low in resolution to meet our press standards. Here’s the scoop on making sure your photo makes the grade:

• E-mail the digital photo to us from a regular e-mail account (do not use photo Web sites such as iPhoto or Picasa, which often minimize images for ease of transmission).
• Make sure the image is at least 1 MB in size, and a resolution of 300 dpi or larger.
• Please note: Increasing the resolution of a previously saved file will not increase the quality.

If you want to send a regular print
Please feel free to send us a regular print by mail, but note that photos WILL NOT be returned.
