Wireless Services
Policy Statement (Abridged – the complete Wireless Use Policy and the Wireless Device DHCP and NAT Specification documents are available on-line at http://www.holycross.edu/its/its_policies/)
The College provides wireless connectivity in designated locations on campus; no other wireless access points are allowed on these sites. If there is no College wireless service, individuals may set up their own wireless access points on campus after consultation with ITS. NAT and DHCP services must conform to ITS specifications (http://www.holycross.edu/its/its_policies/). Violations may be subject to disciplinary actions (see http://www.holycross.edu/its/it_policies/it_use_policy/). Requests for exemptions should be sent to the Director of Information Technology Services

If you already have a wireless card in your laptop, it should pick up the signal in the locations listed above. If not, you will need to go back to the location you purchased the laptop for further assistance. |
| Faculty & Staff | Laptops issued after April 2003 to Faculty/Staff have wireless capability. |
Note: Personal Wireless Access Point (WAP) devices are not allowed in residence halls since wireless connectivity is already provided. More information is available on-line in the Wireless Device DHCP and NAT specifications document (http://www.holycross.edu/its/its_policies/).
Caution: Use of wireless technology should be treated as you would an Internet café. It is a public area and caution is advised. The wireless network is separate from the College network. Data traffic is not as tightly secured. Wireless transmissions increase the possibility of data theft. Use at your own risk.
