How do I get connected to the Holy Cross network and get my Holy Cross e-mail?
The answer will depend on whether you are bringing a computer from home or purchasing a computer through the College Bookstore. The following will let you know what you need to do to get "connected" while at Holy Cross.
If you are purchasing the computer from the College Bookstore your computer is ready to go out-of-the box. Just set the computer up, plug in the ethernet cable and you will be connected to the Holy Cross network and the internet.
If you are bringing a computer from home and the computer has a working/properly installed Network Interface Card (NIC) and an ethernet cable (available for purchase at the College Bookstore), you can connect to the internet and get your Holy Cross e-mail via GroupWise WebAccess and connect to your Holy Cross network drives via NetStorage. After the computer has been set-up, connect the ethernet cable to the PURPLE jack in the dorm room. Also, the Holy Cross Novell (Network) and GroupWise (email) software can be downloaded and installed once you have verified that you meet the minimum requirements and you have a working network interface card. This software can only be downloaded while you are on-campus. The software is available on the Holy Cross ResNet Software Installation page.
Be sure to check out our Resnet Frequently Asked Questions page for more information about the Holy Cross networking software. If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact the Help Desk at 508-793-3548 or helpdesk@holycross.edu.
