How can I move files?
To move files, you simply need to Cut the documents you wish to move and then Paste them into the folder you would like them to be in.

Can I create a new shortcut on my desktop? And if so, how?
To create a shortcut, you need to right click on the program you wish to make a shortcut and select Create shortcut. After the shortcut is made, you simply need to drag the program to the desktop.

I am having problems opening files on a floppy diskette. Is there anything that can be done?
Run a Standard Scan Disk (Start | Programs | Accessories | Scan Disk) on the Floppy;
Run a Thorough Scan Disk on the Floppy (Make sure "Automatically fix errors" is checked);
Try to open the file again. If it opens, save it to your hard drive and email the document to your GroupWise account. If it does not continue;
In word try opening the file as Rescued Text or in Word Pad or Note Pad.
If none of these work, the disk is damaged and saving the document is not likely

How can I check the size of a file?
Double click on the My Computer icon on your desktop and browse to the file's location. Once you have found the file right click on it and click properties.

How do I remove a printer?
Double click My Computer; Double click Printers; Choose the printer that you want to delete and right click; Click Delete; It will ask - Are you sure? Click yes.

When I am highlighting text in Word the mouse scrolls very fast. Is there anyway to slow that down?
Right click desktop; left click properties; Go to Setting tab; left click Advanced; Go to the Performance (maybe Troubleshooting) tab; Adjust the speed there

I need to create a document with a table in it. Which Office product should I use?
For a table that includes complex formatting such as bulleted lists, custom tabs, numbering, or hanging indents, use Word.

For a table that includes complex calculations, statistical analysis, queries, or charts, use Microsoft Excel. However, if your table entries will exceed 255 characters in length, do not use Microsoft Excel; instead, use Word or Microsoft Access.
For powerful sorting and searching capabilities, use either Microsoft Access or Microsoft Excel.
If you need full relational database capabilities, create your table in Microsoft Access.
For a table that you can easily include in a PowerPoint presentation, use Word.

How do I install a local printer?
To install a local printer: Double click the My Computer icon double click Printers. Add Printer; once it alerts you that you are installing, click Next. Choose Network/Local. On the Right side, Choose printer (Must be exact model). If already there, "keep existing," if not, continue.;
Choose a name for the printer and then Click Next. When it asks: Do you want to print a test page? Click Yes. When it asks: Did it print? Even if the answer is no, click Yes. Always use LPT1.

How do I format a disk?
To format a diskette
1) Double-click the My Computer icon, and then click the icon for the disk you want to format.
Be sure not to double-click the disk icon, because you can't format a diskette if it is open in My Computer or Windows Explorer.
2) On the File menu, click Format.
Notes
Formatting a disk removes all information from the disk.
You cannot format a disk if there are files open on that disk.

Can I use foreign characters?
You can insert non-English characters, such as æ, ç, or ø. For example, to produce , press CTRL+^, e. To insert an uppercase letter, press the key combination, SHIFT, and the letter. For example, to produce press +~, SHIFT+n.

Click insert | footnote. Click on endnote; Click options at the bottom; Go to the all endnotes tab; adjust the number format; Click OK.
