How do I change my home page?
To change your home page, you need to go to Tools, Internet Options. Under the tab "General," you will see a section for Homepage and a place to enter the home page that you wish to exist.
Can I save my favorites (bookmarks) to be used on a different computer?
To save your bookmarks, right click on the field that says bookmarks, edit bookmarks, and browse for your P drive. To import the bookmarks into another computer, simply do the same steps as above and select import instead of export bookmarks and they will be placed under previously set bookmarks.
What are cookies and how can I enable/disable them?
A cookie is a small file that allows a web site to remember information about a user. Cookies are most often used to keep track of a user's session, so a user can stay logged into a web site. The Student Web Services site uses cookies to keep track of session information because without it we can not tell that a user is logged in on any page, so it is necessary tool to keep user information secure.
In Internet Explorer, go into the Tools menu and select Internet Options. Within Internet Options, select the security tab. Internet Explorer divides content up into four groups called a Web Content Zones. The Internet, Local Internet, and Trusted Sites zones should all be set to accept cookies. Select the Custom Level button for each zone and check either the Enable or Prompt option for each category under Cookies.
