Blackboard - Archiving and Unarchiving

Windows 98/2000/XP

Steps To Archive a Course
1. Have a file location picked out in advance. (i.e.: P drive)
2. Open the Course.
3. Go to the Control Panel
4. Click on Archive Course under Course Options
5. Click Submit
6. Click "Click the right mouse button and select Save As." link to save the file locally.
7. You will then be asked if you would like to Open or Save the file. Click Save.
8. Chose a location, name the file, (note: keep the .zip extension) and click OK.
9. The course information is saved in WinZip format and can be imported to other courses.

Steps to Unarchiving a Course
1. Open the Course.
2. Go to the Control Panel
3. Click on Import Package under Course Options
4. Click Browse locate the folder where you saved the archive. (i.e.: P drive)
5. Choose the items to be un-archived (imported).
6. Click Submit.

 

Mac OS X

Steps To Archive a Course
1. Have a file location picked out in advance. (i.e.: P drive)
2. Open the Course.
3. Go to the Control Panel
4. Click on Archive Course under Course Options
5. Click Submit
6. Click "Click the right mouse button and select Save As."  to save the file locally.
7. The Download Manager will then open and automatically download the file to the default location (note: the default location is set to the desk top on Holy Cross owned machine, unless someone changed the default)
8. Click OK.
9. The course information is saved in WinZip format and can be imported to other courses.
10. We recommend moving/coping the file from your local machine to your P drive or burning it to a CD. CD burners are available for use at the Help Desk

Steps to Unarchiving a Course

4. Click Choose File to locate the folder where you saved the archive. (i.e.: P drive)
5. Choose the items to be un-archived (imported).
6. Click Submit.
