Applying for a Position

Professional (Exempt)

Human Resources maintains a listing of all available positions which is updated weekly. In addition to this posting, job opportunity bulletins are mailed to local agencies.

The College accepts resumes for available positions. In addition to a resume, please include a cover letter expressing your interest in a specific position and the names and telephone numbers of three professional references.  Diversity is an important College value.  In your cover letter please address your experience working in a diverse environment and your commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Human Resources will schedule interviews for candidates selected by the department. All finalists for exempt positions will be notified of the final disposition of the search once the position has been filled.

Resumes are retained for one year. During this time if you are interested in another position, you can call and request that your resume be considered.

Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Human Resources maintains a listing of all available positions which is updated weekly. In addition to this posting, job opportunity bulletins are mailed to local agencies.

To apply for a position, applicants must come to Human Resources and complete an application for employment. If a representative is available, applicants will also meet with a member of Human Resources to discuss their qualifications and appropriate available positions. Applicants for clerical and secretarial positions will be required to take a typing test prior to being referred to a department for consideration.

Applications of those candidates whose credentials most closely meet the needs of the department will be referred to the hiring department for consideration. Human Resources will schedule interviews for candidates who are selected by the department.

Applications are kept active for one year. During this time if you are interested in a position, you can call and request that your application be considered. If your skills and background are a suitable match for the vacancy, your application will be forwarded to the appropriate department for consideration.

Summer Student Employment

Students of the college who live locally or are planning to stay in the area for the summer and are interested in employment opportunities at the college are encouraged to stop by Human Resources and complete an employment application and meet with a representative of Human Resources to discuss the positions that will be available(completion of a typing test is required for all clerical positions).
