As part of its mission, Holy Cross seeks to form and foster an active worshipping community on campus. Sunday and weekday liturgy are at the heart of the College’s Christian life. We invite students to join together in prayer and worship, and become part of this vibrant worshipping community.
Catholic Masses are celebrated each day of the academic year, and an inter-denominational Protestant service is celebrated each Sunday. Other campus liturgies include Reconciliation services and Morning and Evening Prayer. These liturgies are complimented by various devotions such as the Rosary and the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
More than 300 students serve in liturgical and music ministries, responding to their baptismal call to offer their God-given gifts to the worshipping community at Holy Cross. Share your talents by serving as a music minister, lector, greeter, altar server, or Communion minister.
Liturgy and Justice
Since worship and Christian outreach are inseparably connected, a collection is taken at each weekend service to assist those in need. The recipient of the money collected is announced at the Masses each weekend .
Worcester is blessed with worshipping communities representing almost every religious tradition, including Protestant, Orthodox, Easter Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindu.
