Prayer and Worship

As part of its mission, Holy Cross seeks to form and foster an active worship life on campus. Sunday and weekday liturgy are at the heart of the College’s Christian identity. We invite students to join together in prayer and worship, and become part of this vibrant faith community.

Masses

Catholic Masses are celebrated throughout the academic year, and an Interdenominational service is celebrated each Sunday. These liturgies are complemented by various services such as the Rosary, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and Liturgy of the Word. Since worship and Christian outreach are inseparably connected, an offering is taken at each weekend service to assist those in need. The recipient of the money donated is announced at the services each weekend.

Liturgical Ministry

Nearly 150 students serve in liturgical and music ministries, responding to their baptismal call to offer their God-given gifts to the worshipping community at Holy Cross. Share your talents by serving as a music minister, lector, greeter, altar server, or Communion minister.

Worship in the Local Community

Worcester is blessed with worshipping communities representing almost every religious tradition, including Protestant, Orthodox, Eastern Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindu. Each January the College celebrates this diversity and invites representatives of many faiths to participate in the Annual Multi-Faith Prayer Service.
