Internships

Summer internships are an ideal way for students from liberal arts institutions to gain experience in the business world. In addition to Holy Cross’ formal Summer Internship Program, students are encouraged to explore opportunities on their own. The Career Planning Center can also help with resources and advice.

The Holy Cross Summer Internship Program
The Holy Cross Summer Internship program was established in 2000 with generous assistance from representatives of the College’s New York Leadership Council, a group of alumni with strong business connections in the New York metropolitan area. From that first summer when 10 students were placed in paying internships, the Summer Internship Program has expanded to include many additional opportunities. More than 300 students now work over the summer in advertising, technology, medicine, finance, publishing and social services, among many other fields in New York, Boston and other major metropolitan areas.

For more information, contact the program director, Amy Murphy at 508-793-3880 or amurphy@holycross.edu. Or visit the Summer Internship Program Web site.

Summer Internship Opportunities through the
Career Planning Center
The Career Planning Center provides students with access to thousands of internships nationwide through internship databases, searchable by industry and geographic preference. Students can find these databases via the Internships link on the home page of the Center Web site.

In addition, the Career Planning Center regularly e-mails to all underclass students the Summer Opportunities Bulletin, a listing of summer jobs and internships in a variety of industries and geographic locations. These listings are open to all students, not only students in the Summer Internship Program.
