Literary Society

The Holy Cross Literary Society is comprised of students who are passionate about literature of all genres and are interested in the promotion of quality literature on the Holy Cross campus. The society's goal - to spread awareness of and appreciation for this quality literature - is accomplished through several means. The society's most well known event is a public reading series known as "Out Loud," which has volunteers read passages from selected works in high-profile locations, such as Cool Beans and the steps of Dinand Library. The society's other chief activity is the publication of The Criterion (formerly the Nu Chi Journal), a journal of critical analysis by students of Holy Cross. Each spring, this highly competitive journal calls for submissions of academic writing on any subject. The Criterion is published annually in May.
