Creative Writing Program
Within the English major, students may pursue a creative writing option. Introductory courses are offered in fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction writing. Creative writing students take any two of these introductory courses, and then, with the permission of the creative writing instructors, continue to the intermediate and advanced level of courses in one genre. Creative writing students will take an additional eight upper-division courses within which they are expected to fulfill the normal requirements for the major as to number of readings courses, literary periods, etc.
