Prof. Oser publishes two texts
Congratulations to Prof. Lee Oser who has recently published two works.
In The Ethics of Modernism: Moral Ideas in Yeats, Eliot, Joyce, Woolf, and Beckett (Cambridge University Press), Lee Oser argues that thinking about human nature restores a perspective on modernist literature that has been lost. He offers detailed discussions of the relationship between ethics and aesthetics to illuminate close readings of major modernist texts.
Out of What Chaos: A Novel (New Academia Publishing) tells the story of Rex and The Brains, a West Coast rock band as they ride the wave of chart-topping single. It also tells of bass player Freddie Fontane's romance with Sheila Corcoran, a Catholic girl from Portland, Oregon. It is a comic novel about making it, and making sense of it.
