Holy Cross strongly advocates year-long programs and currently sponsors 23 such programs throughout the world, including Australia, Cameroon, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Russia, Scotland, and Spain. In addition, Holy Cross students with particular curricular needs attend shorter-term Environmental Studies programs in Australia, Costa Rica, Kenya, Mexico, South Africa, and Turks & Caicos Islands, as well as programs for Classics majors in Italy and Greece, and intensive language and culture programs in China and Sri Lanka. Furthermore, Holy Cross currently offers summer programs in Luxembourg, Oxford, Peru and Rome. This array of programs provides students with an exciting and fully credited complement to the offerings available on campus, and serves as international extensions of the College’s curriculum and facilities.
Students are expected to attend Holy Cross programs or programs that have been approved by Holy Cross. However, if a student has a previously-demonstrated, compelling curricular reason for studying in a different country, that student can petition the Office of Study Abroad for approval to study in a different country.
Students may not study independently at a Holy Cross partner institution and receive Holy Cross credit. The College of the Holy Cross does not accept transfer credits form overseas institutions unless they are earned in a program approved by the Office of Study Abroad.
