Les notes

Students will be graded according to their progress in three categories:

Unit Exams (50%)

Students will take a unit exam every two to three weeks. These exams will test both grammar and vocabulary acquisition as well as listening and reading comprehension skills. For the last exam, students will also meet individually with their professor to have their speaking level evaluated. (see Important Dates).

 

Written Assignments (30%)

1. Students will complete and correct in red ink the workbook exercises assigned for each unit test. The answer key is available on-line and in the MRC. (10%)

2. Students will submit one short composition for each unit test. This short essay will be graded for both content and accuracy. (10%)

3. Students will complete a video exercise for each unit test. (5%)

4. Students will complete a reading assignment for each unit test. (5%)


Oral Practice (20%):

1. Students will meet in small groups with a Foreign Language Assistant bi-weekly. (10%)

2. Students will participate in class by speaking in French and working in small groups on class activities. (10%)

A- 90-93
B+ 87-89
B 84-86
B- 80-83
C+ 77-79
C 74-76
C- 70-73
D+ 66-69
D 60-65
F 0-59
