Watercolors

David M. Hummon

I have been working to learn how to paint with watercolor (and gouache) the last year and a half. These are some of my better efforts. I begin with photographs I have taken, reworking the image in my sketch to develop the basic composition. Most of these are painted slowly and carefully, building up the image with washes; a few are completed quickly and directly. The images below are roughly in the order that I painted them.
