Three distinguished alumni journalists
returned to campus to share career advice and insights with
students on Jan. 25. Sponsored by the College’s career
planning center, the event was moderated by Gary Santaniello ’79,
a freelance writer and adjunct professor at Elms College
in Chicopee , Mass. Participants included Jim Farrell ’80,
an education reporter for the Hartford Courant and
a writing teacher at Manchester (Conn.) Community College;
Annie Rourke ’93, a broadcast journalist with NBC30
News in Hartford, Conn.; and Joe Shortsleeve ’79, chief
correspondent for WBZ TV- Channel 4 News, a CBS affiliate
station in Boston.
