Jeffrey T. Wilcox, director of public safety, is the recipient
of the 2001 President's Award, given by the International
Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA).
This annual award is bestowed upon one recipient worldwide
by the president of the IACLEA to the person who set an outstanding
example for the promotion of safety and security and worked
for the promotion of public safety on college or university
campus.
Wilcox has served as director of public safety at Holy Cross
since 1993. Prior to this position he was director of public
safety at the University of Hartford from 1988-1993; at Western
New England College from 1982-1988; and with the Wilbraham
(Mass.) Police Department as a patrol officer, detective,
juvenile officer, court liaison officer and sergeant, from
1971-1982.
A former president and secretary/treasurer of the Massachusetts
Association of College and University Public Safety Directors,
Wilcox has also served as chapter chairman of the Western
Massachusetts Chapter of the American Society of Industrial
Security. He is a Certified Protection Professional, member
of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association and a graduate
of the Command Training School at Babson College.
