Women's Ice Hockey
In its second season in conference play, the Holy Cross
women's ice hockey team is off to an improved 3-4-1 overall
record through its first eight games. Carrying only 16 players
on its roster, the team may be small, but the players make
up for it in determination. Each member of the squad (excluding
both goaltenders) has scored a least one goal. Meghan Mahoney
'05 (Utica, N.Y.) has made an immediate impact. She leads
the team in all three major offensive categories, goals (5),
assists (8) and points (13). On Dec. 1, in a game at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, she broke Holy Cross
records for both points in a game (5) and assists in a game
(5). The rookie also has tallied a team leading two power
play goals.
Elizabeth Campbell '04 (Milton, Mass.) and Dara Reppucci
'04 (Newburyport, Mass.) have tallied four goals each and
both have netted a score on the power play to pace the Crusaders.
Campbell currently holds numerous Holy Cross women's ice
hockey career records, including goals (14), assists (18),
and points (32). Goaltender Jenelle DiSanto '03 (N. Reading,
Mass.) has played in every Holy Cross game this season. She
hold an impressive 2.97 goals against average while making
178 saves this year. She stopped a season-high 44 shots during
a 3-3 tie against Wesleyan on Nov. 27.
The Crusaders will continue its run toward the program's
best record as they battle for the ECAC Division III league
title.
