Elected to the Republican State Committee of Massachusetts in March, William
D. McKinney was a delegate to the 2000 Republican National Convention in
Philadelphia and one of the two Massachusetts representatives on the Platform
Committee. A manager at State Street Corp., North Quincy, Mass., McKinney
is currently pursuing his M.B.A. at Babson College, Babson Park, Mass.
Pasquale "Pat" Penta and his wife, Cheryl, announce the birth of their son,
Zachary Carl, on Aug. 30. Penta has recently been promoted to regional manager-managed

Cantor honored
The December issue of Art
in America noted that the philanthropist and friend of Holy Cross, Iris Cantor,
was recently presented with the Legion of Honor by the French government. Artist
Alain Kirili and Metropolitan Museum curator Gary Tinterow were also recipients
of the country's highest award.
The Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Art Gallery, donated by the
Cantors and located in O'Kane Hall, opened in October 1983,
with the inaugural exhibition, "Auguste Rodin 1840-1917." Over
the years the Cantors have donated and loaned numerous works
of art to the College, including "Hand of Christ," a sculpture
by Enzo Plazzotta, displayed on the steps of Dinand Library,
and the 7-foot monumental figure of Eustache de St. Pierre,
by Rodin, located at the entrance of the gallery.
