The following athletes earned All-Patriot League
honors this fall.
In field hockey: Colleen Schmitt ’01 (Amherst, Mass.) was named Offensive
Player of the Year; Annie Lavigne ’01 (Sullivan, N.H.) was named Defensive
Player of the Year. Jen Corsilli ’04 (Fairfield, N.J.) earned Co-Rookie
of the Year honors. Lavigne and Schmitt were also voted to the First Team All-Patriot
League. Jen Corsilli, Kim Ferguson ’01 (Shrub Oak, N.Y.), Jes Gulino ’01
(Bellingham, Mass.), Lifon Huynh ’02 (Patterson, N.Y.) and Liz Tutella ’03
(Blandon, Pa.) earned Second Team All-Patriot League honors.
In football, Holy Cross placed nine players on the All-Patriot
League team: Patrick Quay ’01 (Cincinnati, Ohio), David
Puloka ’01 (Arlington, Mass.), Michael Blake ’02
(Phoenix, Ariz.) and Frank Traupman ’01 (McKinney,
Texas) earned First Team honors, while Erreick Stewart ’02
(Jersey City, N.J.), David Thompson ’02 (Tarrytown,
N.Y.), Troy LaRose ’01 (Metairie, La.), Chris Conley ’01
(Cincinnati, Ohio) and Jamie Grabowski ’01 (Shelton,
Conn.) were named to the Second Team.
In women’s soccer, five Holy Cross players earned individual honors.
Two players were named All-Patriot League First Team, Kate O’Shaughnessy ’02
(Marion, Mass.) and Christine Pelletier ’01 (Wellesley, Mass.). Three
more Crusaders earned Second Team honors: Sarah Comeaux ’04 (North Easton,
Mass.), Colleen Cushing ’01 (Dudley, Mass.) and Tiffany DeCoff ’01
(Danvers, Mass.).
In Men’s Soccer, Holy Cross had three players named to the 2000 Patriot
League Men’s Soccer All-League First Team. Rusty Giudici ’03 (Highland
Ranch, Colo.) earned First-Team honors for the second straight year, while
Matt Ney ’03 (McLean, Va.) moved up to First-Team honors after receiving
Second-Team honors last year. A first-time honoree, midfielder Pat Montgomery ’03
(Tupelo, Miss.) rounds out the Crusaders selected.
In Volleyball, the Crusaders had two players named All
Patriot League as outside hitter Katie Lynch ’01 (Wantaugh, N.Y.) and setter Jessica Ostlund ’03
(Eden Prairie, Minn.) were selected to the Second Team All-Patriot League.
In Cross-country, Sean McCarthy ’03 (Chelmsford, Mass.), was honored
as Patriot League Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Oct. 17. His seventh-place
finish at the Patriot League Championships garnered him All-League status.
