Faculty from across disciplines addressed the legacy
of Pope John Paul II and the challenges ahead for Pope
Benedict XVI.
The life and work of John Paul II—as well as the issues
facing the new pope and the Catholic Church—were explored
by faculty members in two panel discussions on April 20 and
21in the Rehm Library of Smith Hall. The eight participating
faculty members represented various academic disciplines—history,
religious studies, philosophy, political science, among them—and
