On Oct. 25, the Catholic student group COMPASS will sponsor a conference, titled “The Fourth Wave: What is the New Feminism?” The all-day event will include presentations and lectures by such prestigious critics as Elizabeth Fox-Genovese of Emory University; Janet Smith of the University of Dallas; Mildred Jefferson, the first African-American woman graduate of Harvard Medical School; and Angela Lanfranchi, of the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute. A panel discussion will feature the Catholic theologian Pia de Solenni, of the Family Research Council; and Catherine Pakaluk, of Harvard University.
