Paul Sadler, founder of State Street Life of Boston and
the Sadler Financial Co. in Natick, Mass., died suddenly,
April 26, 2003, at his home in Wayland, Mass., at 70.
Mr. Sadler began his career in the insurance industry with
Penn Mutual in Boston. He then served for many years as the
supervisor of training for the State Mutual Insurance Co.
of Worcester and, later, for Buttonwood Securities of Boston,
for more than 20 years. A chartered life underwriter, Mr.
Sadler had continued to be actively involved in his company,
Sadler Financial, until the time of his death.
During his career, he had been president of the CLU of Worcester;
president of the Wayland Swimming and Tennis Club; and a
member of the board of directors of the Friends of Hospice.
Active in the Holy Cross Club of Worcester, Mr. Sadler had
been a member of the Presidents Council at Holy Cross
and a Holy Cross class agent.
As an undergraduate student, he had been a member of the
Navy ROTC.
Mr. Sadler is survived by his wife, Ann; four daughters;
a brother; and six grandchildren. His father was the late
Stephen L. 18.
