Rev. William E. Reiser, S.J., of the religious studies department,
has been promoted to full professor. Fr. Reiser earned a
bachelors degree from Boston College, a masters
degree from Weston Jesuit School of Theology, and a Ph.D.
from Vanderbilt University. A member of the Holy Cross faculty
since 1966, he has served on the Peace and Conflict Studies
Concentration Advisory Committee and also as a moderator
for the Catholic Alumni Sodality. He has served as a consultant
for Religious Development in Cambridge, Mass., since 1986.
The recipient of several grants, including two from the Hewlett-Mellon
Discretionary Fund, Fr. Reiser is the author of numerous
publications, including, most recently, Jesus in Solidarity
with His People: A Theologian Looks at Mark (Liturgical
Press, 2000). He has served as visiting professor in the
graduate programs at both Fairfield University and Assumption
College and as visiting adjunct professor at Weston Jesuit
School of Theology. Fr. Reiser is a resident of Worcester,
Mass.
