Lisa Germer Bice and her husband, David, announce the birth of their son, Emmett Jameson, on April 13. Tara A. Matthews, who received her degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in December, has accepted a residency in pediatrics at the Newark (N.J.) Beth Israel Medical Center. Clayton-Gisco recently announced that Crispin J. McDonald has been named to the Web site development team for its soft media department. Cathleen (Canney) Morrison was recently promoted to the position of assistant technical manager of forensic chemistry at the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory in Sudbury, Mass. Lauren Bradford O'Malley received the Annamae and Allan R. Crite Prize at the Harvard Extension School's commencement ceremony held in June. The recipient of a master of liberal arts degree in English and American literature and language, O'Malley is employed as a technical support engineer. Christin and Robert M. Pedlow announce the birth of their daughter, Charlotte Francis, on Feb. 22. Linda McCarthy and Lt. John P. Raffier, USN, announce the birth of their son, Nathaniel Charles. John is currently the administrative officer for Naval Station Annapolis in Maryland. Lisa M. Villa and her husband, Michael '91, announce the birth of their twins, Anthony Michael and Elisabeth Rose, on Jan. 24.

Mary Ann Degala-Paraiso and her husband, Edward, announce the birth of their son, Charles Edward, on Feb. 23. Angela (Papa) and Randy A. Mariano announce the birth of their daughter, Giavanna Carolyn, on Dec. 31. Kara Morocco O'Connell and Brian J. O'Connell announce the birth of their son, Braden Andrew, on Jan. 14, 1999. In December, Christopher J. Serb joined the Chicago (Ill.) Fire Department.

"Rick" Hollister, M.D., has accepted a residency in internal medicine at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass. Patrick M. McEnaney, M.D., is in his third year of surgical residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. Jennifer A. McKenna is pursuing her master of arts degree in museum studies at San Francisco (Calif.) State University. William E. Murray has recently been named an associate of the Hartford, Conn., law firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae. Nicole M. Thonet is an associate with the law firm of Hogan & Hartson in McLean, Va. Pamela M. Tully has recently been made a partner at Axiom Communications Inc., a public relations agency in Secausus, N.J.

Burke, USA, is a third-year medical student at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. Robert S. Healy is participating in an 18-month exchange program with Ernst & Young International in Dublin, Ireland. Jessica M. Henning is working in the marketing department of the National Museum of Ireland. Sarah E. Kropp, who is currently serving in the Peace Corps, teaches deaf primary school children in Nakaru, Kenya. Cristine J. Maloney, who works as the housing director at the Randolph (Vt.) Area Community Development Corp., is enrolled in the post-baccalaureate premed program at the University of Vermont. John-Joseph E. Marderosian, who earned a master of arts in teaching degree from Simmons College in Boston, teaches the ninth and 11th grade at Quabbin Regional High School in Barre, Mass., and coaches basketball and baseball for the middle school. Derek M. Massey has been appointed the executive vice president of the Market Street Settlement Group, Inc., a new business located in Manchester, N.H., which provides real estate information and processing services to clients throughout New England. W. Joseph McCormick III is a merchandise manager for Jordan Kitt's Music in College Park, Md. Capt. John M. Orsmond, USMC, is now with the HMM-161 (REIN) squadron. Shannon N. Quinn is employed by Resort Technology Partners, a software development company in Colorado. Jonathan E. Racek attends the Southern California Institute of Architecture, Los Angeles, Calif. Kathryn M. "Kate" Swett is currently working as a human resources analyst with Citizens Bank in Boston.

Katherine M. "Kate" Christou has been named the executive director of Charlestown Lacrosse, an after-school lacrosse and academic program for the residents of Charlestown, Mass. Christopher M. Harris is completing his first year at Washington & Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Va. Kristyn S. Kusek, who lives in New York City, is a free-lance writer of women's health and fitness articles for national women's magazines and Web sites. Megan M. Lipman is a research analyst/surveyor with Associates for International Research Inc., based in Cambridge, Mass. Mark B. McClinchie directs the "Schools Without Walls" program at the McReynolds Middle School in the Houston (Texas) Independent School District; he founded the program three years ago to provide students with before-and after-school enrichment activities. Brendan M. Walsh, who is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in international education, recently received a fellowship to study at the Georg Eckert Institute for International Research.

Mariah Betters is a third-year student at the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, Maywood, Ill. Since October, Mary A. Hooper-Buckley has been working at a Lowell (Mass.) elementary school as a teacher of the deaf in a mainstreaming program for deaf and hard of hearing children. Arthur Andersen recently announced the promotion of Brian K. Hrabak to senior in the tax and business advisory practice of its Cleveland (Ohio) office. Karen E. Keegan works for J.P. Morgan in its private banking division. Robert A. O'Connell is completing his master's degree in mathematics at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Elena E. Olejnik continues to work as a research specialist at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Christine A. Rogers teaches U.S. history at Dracut (Mass.) High School. David A. Streeter Jr. is completing his second year of law school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Stephanie Taylor is in her first year of the master of divinity program at the University of Chicago in Illinois.

Dalton is pursuing her Ph.D. in organic chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge. Lauren E. King works in the marketing department at Putnam Investments in Boston. Bethany (McGarry) Nowak is in sales with Paramount Restaurant Supply in East Providence, R.I. Christopher D. Nowak is a financial advisor with American Express in Cranston, R.I. Frances C. "Kitty" O'Hare is a medical student at the University of Pennsylvania. 2nd Lt. Patrick M. Roddy Jr., who graduated from the infantry officer basic course at Fort Benning, Ga., the U.S. Army Ranker School and the Pathfinder School, is now a platoon leader in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C. Gregory A. Sieghardt manages a Krispy Kreme Doughnuts franchise in New York. Kerry A. Skowron recently accepted a position as an analyst for Mainspring Communications, an Internet strategy consulting firm located in Cambridge, Mass. 2nd Lt. Jared L. Stauffer, USA, who is an infantry officer with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Clarksville, Ky., has graduated from the Ranger training course at the U.S. Army Ranger School, Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
