DINNER TO HONOR BOB COUSY ’50

The Holy Cross Leadership Council of New York will honor Robert J. Cousy ’50 at its annual dinner fundraiser on Wednesday, May 14, at the New York Palace Hotel. Proceeds from the event will fund the council’s summer internship program and other priorities.

Cousy, affectionately known as “the Cooz,” is perhaps Holy Cross’ best known former student athlete. He is a celebrated 1947 NCAA champion and basketball Hall of Famer who propelled the NBA to great success. Cousy is also recognized for his roles as captain of the Celtic dynasty, sports broadcaster, coach, author and goodwill ambassador. This year’s dinner committee is co-chaired by Steve Anderson ’76 and Rosanne Onorato Anderson ’76; honorary chair is Dave Anderson ’51. The Leadership Council is chaired by Larry Doyle ’83.
